The Augmented Banality exhibition is a series of photographs of the cities of La Rochelle, Niort, and Poitiers, gathered from the internet by students at the École de design de Nouvelle-Aquitaine. These images are royalty-free and often seem lost within the endless streams of social media. The photographs exhibited here have been extracted from their online context to be reimagined and updated through the use of augmented reality.
This project was carried out as part of a workshop led by Thomas Cheneseau at the École de design de Nouvelle-Aquitaine with communication students Laura Schlieselhuber, Axèle Bordron, Lucy Duruisseau, Margaux Allouche, Laura Lerouge, Léna Moufok, Célia Léonarduzzi, and Anaïs de Oliveira for the poster of the 4th edition of the ZERO1 Festival.
Designer, graphic designer, illustrator, web designer, street artist, spatial designer, interior architect, window dresser, 3D computer graphics artist, junior art director, scenographer, colorist, motion designer, tattoo artist, layout designer, ceramicist, communications officer—since 1968, our students' dreams have known no bounds, other than those they set for themselves! Over 1,000 students have built their futures here, thanks to a solid education and a sharp designer's eye.
