Cyborg Rituals immerses the audience in a ceremony led by an artificial intelligence and performed via videoconference by Lola Rossi and Kris Hastings. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology and 19th-century French occultism, the ritual transforms the artists into living avatars, with their movements generating “pop-up” projections above the audience. Hovering between spiritual elevation and algorithmic simulation, the performance explores contemporary virtual and collective rituals, questioning our connections to emotion, intuition, and non-human mediation. The AI acts as a guide and catalyst, offering a unique space for exploration in the postmodern cyborg era.
