The ZERØ1 2024 festival invites Sébastien Robert to engage in a discussion with students from the University of La Rochelle regarding his research project The Lights Which Can Be Heard, which explores the lost sounds of the aurora borealis and the intersection of art, science, and acoustic ecology in the Arctic.
This event will be structured into three distinct parts:
. an audiovisual presentation of his work, _Magnetic Fluctuations_
._ a masterclass focusing on his creative and technical process
. an open Q&A session with the artist, providing an opportunity for students to delve deeper into his methodology and artistic vision.
Sébastien Robert is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher whose practice sits at the intersection of visual and sound arts, technology, science, and ethnography. Most of his projects are centered around a research cycle titled You're no Bird of Paradise, through which he explores endangered indigenous sound rituals and cosmologies.
