Invisible Walls uses available, open-access gender statistics to make this social reality visible. This installation takes the form of a nebulous sound environment featuring moving jellyfish-like mobiles—a reference to the mythological figure Medusa—which display data related to gender inequality.

The work is composed of three movements: Disappearance, Gaps, and Violence. Each focuses on a specific aspect of power dynamics and shapes the work's environment. Depending on the nature of the statistical gap, the sounds and forms that make up the piece are distorted, saturated, or rendered invisible. Local data—specific to the exhibition site—is combined with national and international data to create a sense of proximity for the viewer.

Discover the Iakeri collective and their installation Invisible Walls, at the Maison de l’Étudiant at the University of La Rochelle (FLASH).

Finally, Aneymone Wilhelm, a visual artist and set designer, created the scenography and sculptures.
