Try to Turn the Wind transforms the intimate into the political. In this installation, your breath becomes a climatic force: facing the anemometer, every exhalation modulates a shifting soundscape.

At first, a soothing breeze drifts from the speakers. Then, your intervention shifts the atmosphere: a breath that is too intense suddenly triggers the roar of coal mines, fragments of political speeches, or the wailing of sirens. These sonic ruptures reveal the porosity between individual action and global upheaval.

The work captures our Anthropocene era with unsettling elegance. There is no ecological didacticism here, but rather an immediate physical experience: your body feels before your mind understands that the slightest breath contributes to an unstable climate system. Between concrete poetry and political warning, van Eck invents a sensitive metaphor for fragile balances—where the artist reminds us that we are now the clumsy gods of our own weather.
