Located in the heart of La Rochelle, France 1 is a former weather ship now moored in the Trawlers' Basin. Commissioned in 1958, its mission was to remain stationed offshore to observe weather conditions and transmit data to forecasting services. After several decades of service, the ship was converted into a museum. It offers a glimpse into the living and working conditions of the crews, as well as the history of maritime meteorology. Today, France 1 is part of La Rochelle's maritime heritage and serves as a unique place to understand the historic bond between the city and the sea.
