UNIVERSITY OF MINHO (BRAGA - PORTUGAL)
The Master in Media Arts (MMA) at the University of Minho, launched in 2021/2022, is an interdisciplinary postgraduate programme promoted by the Department of Communication Sciences in collaboration with the Schools of Engineering and Architecture. It combines art, digital technologies and communication, offering advanced training in sound art, motion graphics, animation, digital video, transmedia and interactive art through a project-based, experimental model. In partnership with Braga Media Arts, gnration, Braga City Council and Teatro Circo, and supported by Braga’s UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts status, the programme provides students with strong artistic and professional engagement.
Zone of Latency est une installation audiovisuelle générative conçue pour des écrans numériques en environnement urbain ou en espace d’exposition. L’œuvre introduit des variations visuelles lentes, presque imperceptibles, qui interrompent subtilement le rythme habituel d’un lieu, invitant à la pause et à une attention accrue. Le système fonctionne en continu et de manière autonome, sans début ni fin définis, et ne repose pas sur une interaction directe avec le public.
Zone of Latency is a generative audiovisual installation designed for digital screens in urban environments or gallery spaces. The work introduces slow, almost imperceptible visual variations that subtly interrupt the habitual rhythm of a space, inviting pause and heightened attention. The system operates continuously and autonomously, without a defined beginning or end, and does not rely on direct audience interaction.
