Le Gabut District

With its brightly colored wooden houses painted yellow, blue, or red, Le Gabut occupies a central spot in the city of La Rochelle. This former fishing district has been completely renovated and is now a lively tourist destination. Built on several levels connected by walkways, Le Gabut houses both residences and offices, as well as shops, cafes, and restaurants with terraces overlooking the sea. This is where the tourist office is located, facing the Place de la Motte Rouge and just a stone's throw from the La Rochelle Aquarium.
