WG 1 - Exhibition circuits and venues for hybrid creation
Moderator:
Luc Brou (Coordinator of Oblique/s arts & cultures numériques)
This working group will focus on exhibition routes and spaces suited to hybrid creation. We will explore how new, often hybrid and multidisciplinary artistic forms can find their place within traditional and emerging exhibition circuits. Speakers will share their thoughts on how venues can adapt to the needs of artists working across varied media and formats, as well as opportunities for collaboration between cultural institutions and independent initiatives to support and promote hybrid creation.

WG 2 – Training and field experience for cultural professions
Moderator:
Clément Coustenoble (Community Project Manager – TMNlab)
In this working group, we will examine the challenges of training and practical experience in cultural professions. We will explore the links between education and field requirements, focusing on the skills needed to succeed in an ever-evolving cultural sector. Speakers will share their perspectives on how educational institutions can better prepare students to adapt to the challenges and opportunities of the professional world, while fostering their personal and artistic development.

‍This professional symposium aims to explore the complex dynamics shaping hybrid creation, with a particular focus on the interactions between training, production, and distribution. We intend to analyze the challenges and opportunities presented by the hybridization of artistic and cultural practices, as well as the increasing use of digital technologies.

‍

KEY THEMES

How do training programs stimulate creativity and foster the emergence of new forms of expression? What are the challenges of knowledge transfer in a context of constant change in artistic and cultural practices? Which production models are best suited to hybrid creation? How can support structures assist artists in their creative process while fostering innovation and experimentation? What are the new modes of distribution in the digital age? Which venues are appropriate for which works? How can artists leverage these new channels to reach a wider and more diverse audience?

‍

CONTEXT

In a constantly shifting cultural landscape, hybrid creation faces a series of challenges that affect not only artistic training but also the fields of production and distribution. The advent of digital technologies, issues related to the environmental crisis, and changing audience behaviors, to name but a few, have profoundly disrupted artistic practices, and with them, the modes of production and distribution.

In this evolving context, adapting the training of artists and cultural professionals is crucial. Educational institutions must revise their curricula to integrate new technologies, encourage interdisciplinarity, and stimulate innovation, while ensuring that artists acquire the skills necessary to navigate an increasingly complex and competitive cultural landscape.

At the same time, the production of works faces challenges related to the hybridization of practices, funding, and the forms and venues of support. Traditional models are being called into question, and new forms are emerging without yet providing full satisfaction. Production structures must rethink their practices to effectively meet needs and encourage the blossoming of new forms of expression.

Finally, the distribution of works, due to their transdisciplinary nature and varied formats, also encounters difficulties related to visibility, accessibility, and economic models. While the digital age offers new opportunities, it also poses challenges in terms of copyright management, fair remuneration, and the preservation of artistic integrity. Distribution structures must therefore rethink their strategies to better support hybrid creation and promote cultural diversity.

‍

SCHEDULE

This professional symposium will include an introductory lecture, a panel discussion, and a practical workshop, bringing together professionals from various sectors (artistic, cultural, educational, and digital). We will promote a participatory and collaborative approach, encouraging exchanges and the sharing of experience among participants.
